Earrings

Each item is handmade from leather, meaning there will be no ‘machine-perfect’ copies in the list below. There may be idiosyncracies in colour, texture or shape. The photos below show the actual items being sold, not design ideas to be replicated.

All hooped earrings come with titanium hoops. Since almost all earrings have a double layer of leather, this means that hooped earrings are reversible – which is great for travel versatility.

Hooked earrings come with stainless steel fixings by default but these can be swapped out to silver fixings for an additional cost. Simply add the silver upgrade item from the list below. (Note: If you have some earrings you wish to use silver on and others that you don’t, please explain which earrings need upgrading in the comment section during check out.)

Please read the description of the leather used in each earring because the feel and weight of each varies greatly, and may not be what you were expecting. For example, an earring made of only kangaroo leather may feel like you are wearing a thin slip of shiny cardboard. On the other hand, an earring made of crazy horse leather (which isn’t from horse but oiled/waxed cowhide) is thicker and heavier (but still lighter than most ceramic earrings) and will have more of a suede feel. Some people like the feel of sturdier, velvet leather; others prefer very lightweight earrings.

Unlike kangaroo or crazy horse leather, some leathers will have an unusual finish on them, such as an imprint, metallic overlay or a marbled stain. I like to combine various leathers, including goatskin, snake skin and sheep nappa, but no ‘faux leather’.

Each earring has its length noted, which does not include the metal fixing; just the leather component. As a guide: long earrings are generally 45mm to 55mm in length. Medium earrings are 30 to 40mm. Shorter dangles are 25mm or less.
